History

A Star is Born

In April 1992, Freddie Garcia, then ABS-CBN executive vice president and general manager, and Johnny Manahan, then program director, formed the idea of creating a stable of new stars exclusively for the network.[2] This gave birth to Talent Center. In its early years, the Talent Center's initial project was Ang TV.

The show auditioned several thousand people and accepted a few dozen into the program. The talent center continued its search through the launching vehicle Star Circle in 1995.

2000-present

In 2004, the company began a reality TV talent search called Star Circle Quest, which spawned the 'Teen' and 'Kid' editions in its first run, a National Teen Quest on its second season, and finally a Summer Kid Quest on its third and latest season. This was also the year when it formally changed its name from Talent Center to Star Magic. The talents of the reality show were put into new shows like Goin' Bulilit and SCQ Reload

In 2005, most of the former housemates and contestants of Pinoy Big Brother and Pinoy Dream Academy were signed to the company.

In 2006, the company launched the youth oriented show, titled Star Magic Presents which showcases the talent's acting skills. The series ended in 2008 with six seasons.

In June 25, 2011, the company be celebrated its 19th anniversary in ASAP Rocks. It also launched the new website and the new music video with the current artists of the company.[3]
